As a SunGard Group Company, we are able to combine the capability from a range of other SunGard business solutions to provide greater reach and value to the CFO. AvantGard's unique technology infrastructure offers both our existing and new customers the ability to leverage our technology base and provide real business solutions around the CFO's and Treasurer's domain. The solutions are based around SunGard's core competency in the area of electronic cash systems, and treasury risk and accounting technology, overlaid with appropriate workflow controls to ensure efficiency of business operations. AvantGard for Financial Institutions consists of three modules that can be implemented with an AvantGard suite of solutions or complement other financial systems already in place. AvantGard solutions provide a seamless user interface which brings together the key STP workflow requirements for processing transactions among treasury operations, risk management, risk dealing and trading, and liquidity and funding, with minimal business interaction and based on exception processing steps throughout the transaction lifecycle. An overriding objective was to provide economic alternatives to the executive financial managers who provide great business leverage, and at the same time to give them the security of knowing that their free cash flows and major financial market risks are being properly managed to a policy and reported accurately. Among the prime objectives in developing AvantGard were (1) to provide the Treasurer with the tools to drive real business value, (2) manage the financial risks of the business and through AvantGard-ETX, and (3) to close the "time and effort gaps" in the electronic links with trading counter parties. The degree to which these objectives have been accomplished is now evidenced by the end-to-end visibility of financial data flows provided across the CFO's domain and the business at large.
