Chip And Pin Take Up Slow

Web www.software-risk.co.uk

IT retail supplier, Retail Logic found that over half of retailers they sampled were not using Chip and Pin technology to protect themselves from Credit Card fraud. The size ranged from small independents to national chains.

With Chip and Pin the credit card holder is required to enter a pin number after the retailer swipes the card. This replaces the old signature method. In addition to the technology change is a legal one. The retailer is now held liable should a fraud involving a credit card take place.
