Hewlett-Packard
Hewlett Packard nose-dived by 13% following disappointing 3rd quarter results. Corporate Servers and Storage was highlighted by Carly Fiorina as the main laggard unit.

"Poor execution" in the unit was blamed. 17% of HP sales come from the unit.

Further weakness is forecast. Earnings of 35-39 cents excluding special items are forecast for the fourth quarter. Analysts expected 43c.

Innovation Group
The Insurance software specialist , increased licence income and cut costs. They were able to unveil higher profits as a result.

Profit before exceptionals and goodwill amortisation rose to £4.7m from £1.9m.

The company supplies software to develop systems for policy and claims. Additionally they have a business outsourcing division.

The Technology Group was resilient but could still do with another big licence deal. Outsourcing did less well, mainly due to losing a large customer.
