GlobalSantaFe is to implement Certus Governance to support its compliance and corporate governance initiatives.
The suite will be used to streamline reporting procedures, automate internal controls and generally improve efficiency of its compliance processes.
"We have been very successful in complying with both the letter and spirit of Sarbanes-Oxley legislation, but the continued growth in compliance initiatives requires that we further improve our compliance model," said GlobalSantaFe Vice President and Controller Robert Herrin. "Certus will provide the software and solutions that we need to stay ahead of the curve."
Sarbanes-Oxley is the obvious target for any compliance program. Certus claims that its governance suite creates a flexible foundation that can integrate disparate compliance practices across the organization.
Redundant controls are eliminated, risk and compliance initiatives are aggregated and provides visibilty based on roles and responsibilities.
"The world of enterprise governance is growing increasingly complex for companies like GlobalSantaFe," said Bryan Plug, president and CEO of Certus. "We are pleased to have been selected to work with them in this important arena. Certus Governance Solution combines leading domain expertise with best practices into a powerful, yet flexible system of record to ease the burdens of Sarbanes Oxley, as well as emerging worldwide regulation and governance mandates. With Certus Governance Solution organizations can achieve excellence in management and superior results by transforming their governance, risk and compliance initiatives from risk avoidance to opportunity exploitation."
