The Swiss have latched on to the corporate governance bandwagon. Filewave is claiming that its Mac OS X and Windows systems management software helps companies comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
Filewave cite figures from Gartner with corporate governance accounting for 10-15% of IT budgets.
Two products are produced by the company, FileWave(TM) and Asset Trustee (TM). FileWage is a software management system. Asset Trustee is an an IT inventory management product.
Asset Trustee ensures that an inventory of all applications installed on client computers (Mac or PC) is automatically sent to a central database called the Asset Trustee Inventory. This database is then used to create compliance reports. Meanwhile, Filewave automates the central distribution and management of all software installed on client machines, so further helping with compliance.
"Having the right software management applications can significantly reduce the regulatory burden," says Ben Forsyth, head of development of FileWave. "Our products help companies implement IT controls for compliance management without the need for complex new infrastructure projects."
