A Texas accounting firm, Calvetti, Ferguson & Wagner (CF&W) has released a hosted software service that should simplify compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
The firm which also offers consulting and internal audit outsourcing, hopes the new service will replace the spreadsheets used by many companies.
"Projects of this size and complexity demand the use of a software tool to help house the information and facilitate the complex reporting required. However, the SOX software market has been pretty fragmented and immature, and it's been driven primarily by the software vendors who don't necessarily have an understanding of what's required in a SOX project," says CF&W partner Marcus Wagner. "SOX Symphony is based on COSO, PCAOB Audit Standard No. 2 and our own significant experience in managing SOX projects for our clients."
SOX Symphony is a subscription-based software service over the web.
SOX Symphony allows the assignment of documentation and certification responsibilities to process owners across an organization, which alleviates the potential bottleneck of work in a central accounting, internal audit or compliance department. SOX Symphony literally orchestrates information across company platforms and personnel, simplifying the often-difficult compliance processes.
