Sybase and Cendura Cohesion

Sybase is to implement Cohesion Suite from Cendura in its data center. The software will be used to automate the application change configuration activities "Configuration management is very important to us as we continue to standardize, consolidate, and simplify our computing environment," said T.X. Ho, IT Director for Sybase. "Being able to discover and track configuration settings across multi-tiered and multi-vendor IT service environments will help us to resolve problems quicker and to audit our environment more efficiently." Cohesion is used to automatically discover and collect all software settings about every configuration item or parameter used by data center applications. Web servers, application servers, databases, middleware. Windows, Linux, Solaris, HP-UX and AIX platforms are all covered. Cohesion includes a library of blueprints that provides out-of-the-box manageability for the most widely-used commercial data center applications. Additionally, Cendura includes a Blueprint Builder that lets IT groups extend the support application library by quickly building blueprint models of their in-house built software components and custom applications so they can be discovered and managed along with the commercial applications.
