CBOT Sees Trading Leap

The Chicago Board Of Trade (CBOT) saw a daily volumes grow by 12.9% in 2005. Electronic trading grew 25.8 by volume in the same period.

Over 674 million contracts were traded in 2005. The increase marks the fourth consecutive year that volumes have grown.

Electronic trading continues to take an ever larger percentage of trade increasing to 65% in 2005 from 58% in 2004.

Trading electronically in financial options saw an 180% increase.
