WebMethods has announced that its flagship suite, WebMethods Fabric has been awarded Evaluation Assurance Level 2 (EAL 2) Certification from the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme Validation Body.

Common Criteria is an ISO standard 15408 for assessing security features and capabilities of information technology products with NIAP administering the program within the U.S. for NIST and the NSA.

The certification is important because certain Federal Government agencies are only employ Common Criteria certified technology, the Department of Defense for example.
