Iron Mountain and Orchestria are to offer real-time active policy management with records management and data protection services. Digital Archives an outsourced electronic management service for archiving of electronic records. Types of communication that can be held are e-mail, instant messages and images. Orchestria's contribution is is the active policy management software, Real-Time Prevention and Intelligent Review, that ensures electronic messages comply with regulatory matters such as the SEC, NASD and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. The suite enforce policy to prevent non-compliant messages from being sent, stored or posted. Behaviour can be scrutinized for acts of non-compliance, deter repeat offences and educate users. Regulators are more tenacious today than ever before and often the evidence in cases against companies comes from their own permanent message archives, said John Clancy, executive vice president of Iron Mountain's Digital business unit. "Electronic messaging has become the principal method of business communication, making it easy for employees to mistakenly or intentionally violate corporate policies. Companies need to have the policies and tools to mitigate this burgeoning risk.
