Three former WorldCom executives have reached settlements in a class action brought by investors.

The investors lost billions of dollars, when the company imploded because of a $11bn accounting fraud.

One of the executives, Scott D. Sullivan was the Chief Financial Officer during the fraud. At the trial of Bernie Ebbers, Sullivan was the prosecutions stellar witness.

The other two are Buford Yates Jr., former accounting director and David F. Myers, former controller.

Details of the settlement will be made public today. A hearing has been scheduled for Thursday, to discuss preliminary approval, by Judge Denise L. Cote of United States District Court in Manhattan.

Other defendants in the action have already settled. Bernard Ebbers, 12 other WorldCom directors, Arthur Andersen and investment banks settled for more than $6bn.

Mr. Sullivan, Mr. Yates and Mr. Myers are the last defendants to settle. They and tow WorldCom accountants also await sentencing in August for their part in the fraud.
