EL SEGUNDO, Calif., July 1 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) announced today that it has won a task order from the Naval Sea Systems Command to provide program management and total ship systems engineering support for the U.S. Navy’s DD(X) Destroyer Class Program Office (PMS 500). CSC estimates the value of the task order, which has a one-year base period and four one-year options, to be approximately $71 million if all options are exercised.
Under the task order, CSC will provide a range of program management and engineering services to PMS 500, including business and financial solution implementation; acquisition and ship production analysis support; aviation, mission and human systems integration; and environmental, safety and health support. DD(X) is the centerpiece of a family of ships that will deliver a broad range of combat capabilities to the U.S. Navy. The mission of the DD(X) program is to provide the foundation for the next generation of U.S. Naval Surface Combatants.
“The CSC team is pleased to support PMS 500 during this critical juncture in bringing DD(X) to the fleet," said Aaron Fuller, president of CSC’s Defense Mission Engineering and Integration Division. “CSC’s extensive experience with the Navy and proven ability to deliver results to our clients will benefit the DD(X) program as it transitions from preliminary design to detail design and construction."
