Cray Deals With Defence and Japan

Supercomputer vendor Cray Inc., has received orders for two machines Madison Research Corporation for the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC).

A Cray X1E™ and a Cray XD1™ will be used to run computational fluid dynamics codes. These in turn will be used for aerodynamics models.

Madison Research is the organisation that runs the SMDC simulation centre.

Japan In Japan, Cray is to join with Sumisho Electronics to sell and support the Cray XD1™.
