McAfee's 150th Patent McAfee has been awarded it's 150th patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. 53 of the patents have come in the last year alone. The 150th patent is US Patent 6,898,712 titled "Test Driver Ordering". The technology involved covers various programs and products for testing computer files for viruses using a library of test drivers.
Aladdin Knowledge Systems has secured a settlement as part of a campaign to enforce rights on patents for USB devices that store personal identification credentials. Recently, a distributor of China-based Feitian Technologies Co., Ltd. signed a settlement agreement with Aladdin agreeing not to import, distribute, sell, or offer infringing products.

"College Students Think OK to Download at School Two-thirds of college and university students surveyed see nothing unethical about swapping or downloading digital copyrighted files (software, music and movies) without paying for them and more than half (52 percent) think it is also acceptable behavior in the workplace, according to a new survey released today by the Business Software Alliance (BSA). The findings come in the wake of the Grokster decision which has been seen as a bonus for the entertainment business.

The award covers interoperability with the line of identity and access management solutions from RSA Security. Previously, the company's Federated Identity Manager has received the same certification, for interoperability RSA Security's Web access management software
Snap-On Credit Licenses CIC eSignature Communication Intelligence Corporation (CIC) has licensed its SignatureOne(TM) eSignature Platform including Sign-it(R) and its companion Biometric eSignature Verification Server technology to Snap-on Credit. Snap-on Credit is a joint venture between Snap-on incorporated and CIT Group Inc.
Hudson, MA has VirtualCop BIO-key International, Inc. a vendor of finger-based biometric identification and wireless public safety solutions, has successfully deployed its VirtualCOP and PocketCOP technology in the Hudson, Massachusetts, Police Department as part of a system upgrade. Hudson is a long time BIO-key Packetcluster(R) customer and the first department in Massachusetts to take advantage of the combination of features that VirtualCOP, Packetcluster and PocketCOP offer.
