Identity Theft Alliance Launched AptSoft and SecuritySage have joined together to combine their expertise and develop effective systems for preventing and dealing with the results of identity theft. AptSoft's area is complex event processing. SecuritySage's is information security and privacy. The alliance aims to stop the identity thief before he can get to the transaction itself.

Traditional fraud detection systems are narrowly focused on suspicious transaction activity. The CEP capabilities of AptSoft's Director(TM) Series software allow it to correlate patterns of seemingly benign transactional and non-transactional events across time and any number of systems to spot behaviors associated with the early stages of data theft, such as opening a new credit card account or changing an address and then reporting a lost card in order to have a replacement issued to the new address. Further, it can automate a response to suspicious patterns that can derail an exploit before it results in a rash of costly fraudulent transactions.

Vintela and 1E Partner on SMS Management Vintela -- a provider of innovative platform integration solutions -- today announced a partnership agreement with 1E Ltd. -- a leading Microsoft Windows infrastructure management consultancy and software developer. The agreement allows 1E to offer Vintela technology as part of its focus on deploying and managing large, complex Microsoft Windows infrastructures. Through the agreement, the existing capabilities 1E offers through Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 and Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005, can be extended beyond Windows to also encompass Unix, Linux, and Mac OS X systems.

Sun Microsystems Extends Identity Management Portfolio Sun Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ:SUNW) , today announced it has expanded its identity management portfolio with two new products, Sun Java(TM) System Federation Manager and Sun Java System Identity Manager Service Provider Edition. These products allow customers to extend identity management beyond the traditional boundaries of an enterprise to multiple partners, users, devices and applications. Federation Manager is a focused, easy to deploy solution that helps companies enable federations across numerous partner sites quickly and efficiently. Identity Manager Service Provider Edition is a highly scalable identity administration solution that helps enable federated provisioning across trusted partner networks and provides identity services for registration, self-administration, delegated administration, and synchronization.

Sun Life Financial Offer Identity Theft Monitoring Sun Life Financial U.S. is offering a one-year free membership to PrivacyGuard, a credit monitoring and reporting service, with many of its annuity products. PrivacyGuard provides monitoring of certain changes in credit reports and can help to resolve issues early on. Sun Life Financial (NYSE:SLF) is the first insurance company to offer this type of protection to new annuity customers -- and is paying the first-year membership fee in full. ""Identity theft is a huge problem that costs victims hundreds of dollars and significant time to fix," says Mary Fay, Vice President and General Manager, Annuities. ""The best way to manage identity theft is to detect it early by frequent credit monitoring."

Trilegiant Corp. a subsidiary of the Cendant Marketing Group is behind PrivacyGuard. Sun Life Financial is making this service available to new purchasers of eligible variable and equity-indexed annuities. The service helps members review their credit activity and notifies them when certain changes occur and also provides a triple-bureau credit report and score, and helps with issue resolution.

Vintela and Oxford Computer Group Join for Identity Integration At the European Microsoft Identity Integration Server (MIIS) User Group, Vintela a provider of innovative platform integration solutions announced a partnership agreement with Oxford Computer Group, specialist in the area of identity management. The agreement allows Oxford to offer Vintela technology as part of its focused services centered on providing the best available identity and access management solutions. Vintela platform integration solutions will allow Oxford to offer customers comprehensive identity and access management solutions for all systems -- Windows, Unix, Linux, and Java -- based on the best-in-class Microsoft products already deployed and preferred by customers, specifically Active Directory (AD), Windows Group Policy, and Microsoft Identity Integration Server (MIIS) 2003.
