Italian bank, Banca Fideuram has chosen CA's eTrust PestPatrol Anti-Spyware product to combat spyware.
The use of the product should reduce the number of help desk calls and enhance service levels.
Changing markets have caused sweeping changes in the bank's IT. Security is paramount, particularly around the web and email.
In 2004, Banca Fideuram experienced a 20 percent spike in help desk calls caused by a growing number of anomalies and malfunctions on various machines, including those running thin clients. Eventually, it became clear that a deluge of spyware was causing these problems.
CA's eTrust PestPatrol Anti-Spyware enabled us to quickly and easily restore our environment to normalcy despite the fact that we had little internal expertise on spyware and spyware removal, said Antonino Messana, systems and technology director of information systems at Banca Fideuram. "We are extremely satisfied with the results of our implementation and the ongoing ease with which we are able to maintain our spyware defenses."
eTrust PestPatrol Anti-Spyware is a key component of a multi-level enterprise security strategy. It automatically locates and enables the removal of a full range of non-viral threats such as spyware and adware, generates real-time alerts, and logs all events to help administrators identify spyware entry points.
