HSBC in Hong Kong is distributing Digipass's GO3 Strong Authentication Device to retail banking customers to provide protection against phishing and online fraud.

HSBC is the first bank to distribute the software to all its retail customers in Hong Kong. It plans to roll the device out all over Asia.

The global bank has 60% of the online banking market in the territory.

We are honoured to welcome HSBC in Hong Kong as a VASCO customer, said Jan Valcke, VASCO's President and COO. "VASCO's Digipass GO3 is an extremely portable and easy to use two factor authentication device that provides users with a secure One-Time Password (OTP) which cannot be re-used by hackers. We acknowledge HSBC in Hong Kong's groundbreaking decision to lead the battle for secure online banking in Asia-Pacific. VASCO will spare no effort to make this project a success."
