Industria Acquires EAP Consulting; Addition of Leading Irish Telecoms Consultancy Leads to Formation of Industria Professional Services, Ireland
DUBLIN, Ireland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 10, 2005--Broadband solutions provider Industria today announced the acquisition of leading Irish telecommunications consultancy EAP Consulting. The company will operate as a specialist unit within the Industria Group under the name Industria Professional Services, Ireland (IPSI), and will be managed by EAP Consulting founder and managing partner, Seamus Given. He is joined by his former partners, Frank Flanagan and John McCarren, who will serve as Technical Director and Business Development Manager, UK respectively.
One of Ireland's most experienced operators in its field, EAP Consulting was founded in 1996, and was formerly a division of European Access Providers Limited, a company operating in Ireland as Leap Broadband, and which was itself recently acquired by Ken Peterson Jr., founder and CEO of US-based private equity investment company Columbia Ventures Corporation (CVC).
EAP Consulting played a key role in several Irish government projects, among them the design and implementation of fibre networks for local authorities in Galway, Sligo and Limerick, under the government's National Development Plan.
In their new roles at IPSI, the EAP consulting team will now also be closely involved in the build-out of fibre, wireless and ADSL2 networks for Irish digital services provider and CVC subsidiary, Magnet Networks, and in gearing up to participate in the next phase of the Regional Broadband Programme planned for rollout throughout Ireland over the next two years.
"The acquisition of EAP Consulting and foundation of Industria Professional Services, Ireland, marks another major step in our stated aim of becoming one of Europe's leading one-stop broadband solutions and digital network services providers," says Industria CEO, Gudjon Mar Gudjonsson. "We welcome Seamus, Frank, John and their staff to the company, and are sure that their knowledge and experience will serve to strengthen not only Industria in Ireland, but also the Industria brand as a whole."
"I have no doubt whatsoever that the synergy achieved between ourselves and Industria will be to the mutual benefit of both companies and our customers," comments Seamus Given. "Our clients present and future can now look forward to receiving the same level of service as in the past, backed up by the broader expertise of the Industria Group. It's a positive move for all involved."
