Oracle is on the acquisiton trail again. This time it is TimesTen, Inc.

TimesTen supplies software for real-time data management.

The Infrastructure software can manage events, transactions and data. Industries in which it is applied include telecoms, securities trading and networking,

Real-time billing, stock trading, call center and airline operations are all powered by TimesTen software.

Subject to regulatory approval, Oracle will close the deal with privately held TimesTen by the end of July.
