Veritas has extended its application service management software, Veritas i3 to support the Microsoft .NET Framework and the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 databases.

Veritas i3 is touted as a comprehensive set of end-to-end peformance and service management tools.

IT managers can monitor, analyze and fine-tune their applications and maintain performance levels.

VERITAS has a proven track record for delivering advanced software solutions that enhance customer confidence and migration to our latest operating systems and database offerings, said Paul Flessner, senior vice president of Enterprise Servers at Microsoft. "With VERITAS i3 for .NET and SQL Server 2005, our mutual customers will now have the ability to proactively manage the service and performance levels of their SQL Server 2005 databases as well as the Web services and applications running across their .NET environments."

VERITAS i3 for SQL Server provides key application, database, system and storage statistics and analysis data to provide a smooth migration to SQL Server 2005. In addition, VERITAS i3 for SQL Server will provide visibility into transactions that cross the entire application allowing IT managers to set and meet service level agreements.

The new version is scheduled to be generally available in July 2005.
