Anti-Phishing Toolbar Launched

Google

Web www.software-risk.co.uk

More anti-phishing news. Netcraft is releasing a Firefox version of its and anti-phishing toolbar.

The free Firefox version follows on from an Internet Explorer version launched in December 2004.

According to Netcraft over 7,000 phishing sites are blocked by the toolbar. New sites to be blocked are added when found by a "Netcraft Toolbar Community".

As long as the operating system is supported by Firefox, then the toolbar will work.

The hosting location of the visited site is displayed along with an "abstracted risk rating".

Pop-up windows which hide navigational controls and suspicious URLS are also defended against.
