In some organisations it is common to use ‘expert’ users (commonly known as super or expert users) to deal with first-line support problems and queries. This is typically in specific application areas, or geographical locations, where there is not the requirement for full-time support staff. This valuable resource, however, needs to be carefully coordinated and utilised.
