Unisys has seen its contract with Southampton City Council for administering the Revenues and Benefits system extended by three years.

The parties claim £500,000 a year will be saved with the IT contract.

Extra fraud prevention other new features are included in the new contract.

Sue Collinson, Southampton city council business support and development manager, said, “Our main reason for awarding the extension to Unisys was the unique partnership that has developed between our two organisations".

"The contract we have with Unisys actively creates new processes to improve citizen experience, which helps us meet new Government efficiency guidelines on improving quality of service,” she said.
