ITouch, a provider of ringtones and games for mobile phones has agreed a £180m bid from Japanese company, For-Side.com.

The move is part of a wider consolidation in the 3G services arena. Previousely ITouch had been in talks with rival Monstermob.

Itouch has itself grown through acquisition since 2000. It has needed the size to compete in a fiercely competitive environment.

The deal is thought to be the largest European acquisition in two years by a Japanese company.
