Apple Launches Tiger on Servers and Desktop

Tiger, the latest operating system from Apple will be released in desktop and server versions at the end of this month.

Features in Tiger includes Searchlight. Users will find it easier to find information on the Macs, whether in an e-mail, image or document.

Improving search feature comes at a good time. Internet giants, Google and Yahoo are both developing powerful desktop search facilities.

Dashboard, will allow users to access news and other content whilst online.

Instant Messaging software, iChat will come bundled with the system.

The desktop will be called Mac OS X 10.4 and costs £70. Mac OS X Server 10.4 will cost £280.
