This Site Under Prince2

Web www.software-risk.co.uk

Ongoing developments on this site and all related sites is to come under the Prince 2 project management methodology.

Two reasons underpin this decision. Firstly, we believe that Prince2 is excellent at reducing the risk of projects not delivering business benefits.

Secondly, we are all preparing to take the practitioner level of the Prince2 certification exam. Rather than learn the methodology by rote, we have decided to put it in practice.

The chosen route is to implement as many of the processes, procedures and techniques as possible to ensure full coverage. Once we have established which elements of the methodology are appropriate, we can then begin to tailor it much more to individual projects.

Eventually, project management will come under programme management. In this instance all activities, not just development of the site but marketing and other business related issues as well.

Wherever possible the documentation we produce for the projects will be posted on the site.

Additionally as we work our way through the items in the methodology, they will tie back to the project.

The first project we are undertaking under the new regime is to reduce the time taken to compile the site. Currently this takes over 6 hours. We are striving to get this down below 3 hours.
