Red Hat Sales and Profit Leap

Red Hat, a supplier of Linux systems has seen sales jump by over half in Q4.

For the three months to 28th February, sales were $57.5m (£39.1). An increase of 56% compared to the same period last year. Full year figures rose 58% to $196.5m

Net profits also rose to $11.8 from $4.8m.

Most of the increase is attributed to more entreprise Linux licences being sold. 175,000 new and renewed subscriptions in fact.

The enterprise market generated $45.5m increase, over 92% increase.

New products include upgrades to the Linux enterprise server.
