SAP In Service Oriented Architecture Move

SAP is upping its game with service-oriented architecture (SOA). To reinforce, they have announced an education and technology programme to enable firms to make the move.

SOA enables an organisation to be more flexible with regard to it IT Infrastructure when business needs change.

The SAP appoach is to help companies move toward such an architecture with a step-by-step guide based on individual needs.

SAP claims the programme maintains productivity of existing systems, SAP Netweaver based web services meanwhile, would enable them to implement enterprise services architecture. The new infrastructure would be tailored to their needs.

SOA initiatives can trigger a fundamental shift in the way organisations develop, deploy and manage their software landscape, said Sandra Rogers, an analyst at IDC. "Education, co-ordination and support across the enterprise is essential as companies seek to optimise their business processes and IT assets."

The four steps are,


 *Enterprise architecture workshops and total cost of ownership discovery sessions
 *Building a tailored roadmap
 *Implementing and going live
 *Harnessing the value of an enterprise service architecture whilst managing change
