Cray Delays Sarbanes-Oxley

Cray, the supercomputer firm, is the second software firm in two days to delay its annual report due to problems Sarbanes-Oxley compliance problems.

The news follows an announcement by Veritas that it was delaying.

Cray, unlike Veritas is likely to announce one or material weaknesses in its internal controls.

As both companies are publicly listed, they have to make a declaration in the accounts regarding internal controls. Not only that they exist, but they are also effective.

Cray plans to take advantage of a 45 day extension to complete the review of internal controls. Thus it will not be ready by the time it files its annual report on March 31.
