Oyster Card Crashes In London

Google

Web www.software-risk.co.uk

Transport For London's flagship IT network crashed this morning. Over 2.2m people travel across public transport with the cards.

The problem lay with the IT monitoring system. In turn the electronic scanning system had to be taken down as well at 4.30am. By 8.30 repairs were under way.

By 10am over 90% of the Oyster system was functioning satisfactorily.

The crash comes at an embarrassing time for TfL. They have just announced that Oyster card holders may be able to buy their milk and papers using the card.
