NATS System Chaos

Google

Web www.software-risk.co.uk

The UK's National Air Traffic control (NATS) is in trouble again. This time it was due to a computer failure at the West Drayton control centre on Wednesday.

Manual operations had to be introduced after engineers had to shut down the automated system. Consequently restrictions on UK airspace meant less planes could enter. Take-offs were also delayed.

Admittedly the system was only down for 30 minutes from 6.30pm, but delays for passengers still grew.
