Northern Ireland £30m Contract for BT

The UK's largest housing authority, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, has awarded BT an 11 year, £30m contract.

An extensive range of services are to be taken on board by BT. The basis is a new IT infrastructure, additionally business applications for grants and housing management will be replaced. The whole contract is to be managed from BT's Belfast office.

Paddy McIntyre, NIHE’s chief executive said, "This strategic partnership is aimed at enhancing NIHE’s role as a provider of social housing by being more accessible and more closely aligned to the communities and the people it serves."

As a large housing provider, the financials are large. A rental income of £265.5m from 100,000 properties. Over £359 is paid in Housing Benefit and approves 10,000 home improvement grants per year.
