Cumbria Outsources IT

IT services company, Agilisys has been selected by Cumbria County Council for a £50m IT partnership.

The contract, for seven years, will cover change management and IT services. The start date is in March, a full eleven months after Agilisys was named preferred supplier. Agilisys has however been already been supplying IT services to the council.

Perhaps the protracted dispute at Swansea Council over its decision to outsource IT had a bearing on the contract?

Indeed Agilisys beat off heavyweight contenders, ITNet, BT and Capita.

County councillor Kevan Wilkinson commented, "We have been working closely with Agilisys over the past months and it has already demonstrated its ability to help us use technology to transform the the way we deliver services to the people of Cumbria".
