Tom Bradley, CEO of PalmOne resigned yesterday. PalmOne Veteran Ed Colligan will be a caretaker CEO from 25 February. The current quarter will be overseen by Bradley, the Board said.

PalmOne chairman Eric Benhamou stated, "We respect Todd's desire to move upon completion of this key milestone, and appreciate his willingness to support the company through the transition to its next CEO.,"

The acquisition of Handspring, a breakaway company was brokered by Bradley. Ironically Colligan was one of the executives that mad the breakaway in the first place. The move had been due to the slowness in PalmOne going public.

The run-up to Christmas was healthily in the black. Sequential growth was up 37%. Luckily they have managed to keep the product line fresh, if with some problems. The biggest being the flagship, smartphone, the Treo 650. This top margin product missed the run up to Christmas. Luckily, Toshiba and Sony, great rivals of PalmOne withdrew from the US market.
